The Biggest Challenge Before Bridges
"The public school my daughter went to before was not prepared for her needs. The special education department did not know how to handle an autistic child, and I was constantly having to pick her up due to them feeling overwhelmed. That also caused them to not try any academic work with her very much. I felt like they thought she was a lost cause and wasn’t even worth the effort to try and see if she could start reading, writing, or math. Which was a horrible idea in my opinion since I knew she was a smart girl."

The Moment Things "Clicked"
"Once I enrolled her at Bridges I saw a very drastic change in her. She was happy and ready to go to school and she gradually started telling me about friends she made and the things she did. I saw her become more calm and she didn't seem frustrated or anxious anymore. She also started being able to read books and she even writes me little notes. She has progressed so much socially, emotionally, academically, and even her speech has come a long way."

The Single Most Positive Change
"I never thought I would be able to have a back-and-forth conversation with her. So being able to communicate with her has been wonderful for our family and a joy to see and hear what she likes and thinks. Another thing would be her finally being able to read. It was a huge step that I didn't know she was ever going to get to. So seeing her reaching that goal is has been great."
